We were bought by BP Launchpad at the end of 2019, Launchpad is bp’s business-builder and scale-up factory. As Senior Buyer, you will take full ownership of purchasing activities within Fotech. You will be the key person in defining our strategies across multiple commodities and aiming and ultimately delivering a best in class function.

You’ll also be joining at a time when we are introducing a new ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics), so your ideas and guidance are going to help us optimise the system.

Joining Fotech at such a critical time in our growth means you will have the autonomy and support to make decisions quickly and decisively. This role offers significant growth opportunities, and you’ll help to shape the purchasing team in the future.

You’ll do this by:

• Building and continue to develop long-term relationships with new & existing suppliers to ensure value to Fotech and the supplier
• Monitoring supplier QCDS (Quality Cost Delivery Service) performance and with the help of the engineering department resolve any quality issues
• Defining the strategy for purchasing across multiple commodities
• Establishing best in class supply risk management practices
• Negotiating with suppliers to ensure that the best deal is achieved from a Total Cost of Ownership perspective
• Managing internal relationships to deliver the commodity strategy and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensuring Purchase Orders are raised in line with supplier payment terms

We want you to bring:

• Experience within a Purchasing role (ideally from an Engineering / Manufacturing company but all industries will be considered)
• Knowledge of using ERP / MRP systems (Ideally Microsoft Dynamics)
• Change mindset. We want you to bring new ideas to the table and help us develop our ways of working
• Strong business acumen including knowledge of manufacturing, design engineering, finance, and quality to understand the impact of purchasing decisions on the overall business success
• Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues and challenges
• Team player mentality. We are going through a period of growth and change. Whilst your role will take ownership of purchasing, you’ll be a part of how we build our culture & the development of our Operations team in the years ahead
