Fotech promotes Arabela Silva to its global Head of Engineering

Fotech has promoted Arabela Silva to global Head of Engineering with immediate effect. She will report to Steve Cammish, Chief Technology Officer.

Silva’s global remit is to increase the innovation and efficiency of Fotech products as well as responsibility for leading the teams who develop and support Fotech’s technology products’ hardware and software.

Cammish says, “We are delighted Arabela is taking the helm of this vital role. Her security background and strategic thinking will accelerate the engineering culture, which not only aligns with Fotech’s goals but also encourages continual innovation. These combine to ensure our customers around the world have access to the most efficient products that enable them to understand, to improve and to protect their built environments.”

Silva says, “I am passionate about problem-solving and technical innovation, so I relish the challenges that I am facing in as global Head of Engineering. No two days are the same when you are working with such a talented team and with such exciting technology. My goal is to ensure Fotech continues to be a pioneering, resilient solutions-focused business”

Before joining Fotech in October 2020 as Group IT & Security Manager, Silva worked in the digital space for the telecommunications and technology sectors as a Digital Programme Director for Vodafone, as well as consulting roles in Alcatel-Lucent and O2. She has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, as well as multiple software and project delivery certifications. In 2019, Silva was a finalist in the Computing Women in IT Excellence Awards.
