Enterprises have invested in digital transformation and new technology infrastructure in order to keep up with the demands of the modern economy. Forward looking organisations are accelerating their transformation by harnessing the value of Big Data and the wealth of information that comes from the Internet of Things (IoT).
In order to gain a competitive edge and enhance their operations, organisations need to gain intelligent and actionable insights into their assets. This is particularly important for the oil and gas industry. Technology has been critical to surviving challenging times and now it is providing the opportunity to prosper in more a buoyant market.
As oil and gas organisations digitally transform the way they operate, we’ve launched Helios Theta – our most advanced Distributed Acoustic Sensor (DAS) technology yet. Helios Theta provides unrivalled data on well performance, reporting in granular detail on a range of operational activities, including Vertical Seismic Profiling (VSP).
Operators will be able to extend the life of reservoirs, optimise the drilling and completion of new wells, improve safety and efficiency, and increase production. Based on our True Phase technology – which harnesses state-of-the-art photonics, edge computing and AI systems – Helios Theta delivers greater fidelity, enhanced sensitivity and superior versatility in the field.
This enables the acquisition of seismic data at greater depths, the detection of smaller micro-seismic events, and the identification of lower levels of fluid and sand production – providing operators with in-depth insights into reservoir performance that have been previously invisible.
With Helios Theta, operators have more flexibility to adapt and respond to activities onsite using the dynamic ‘operating-modes’ – allowing monitoring to be optimised for specific downhole conditions. This includes two quantitative phase modes (Bandwidth and Fidelity) – which enables high-quality imaging in low energy environments – ideal for VSP and micro-seismic measurements. A third mode provides profiling for high-energy environments, making it the perfect tool to inform decisions during hydraulic fracturing operations.
Helios Theta is the latest in a long line of products that pushes the boundaries of innovation in upstream applications. DAS has been vital in helping operators keep pace with the demands of the ever-evolving digital environment – not just in the oil and gas industry, but also in Pipeline and Asset Third Party Intrusion (TPI) Monitoring, Leak Detection and Border Protection.
At Fotech, we continue to innovate as the demand for not just more data, but greater insight into that data, grows. With the technological advancements of Helios Theta, and the opportunities that arise from its in-field versatility, operators’ are able to better understand reservoir economics, to help move the breakeven point, and ultimately to realise improved efficiency and new revenue.
