    Chairman

    Doug brings more than 35 years of Oil and Gas industry experience to Fotech Solutions. His previous experience includes CEO positions at RBG and Sparrows, and 24 years at US based Weatherford Inc., where he ultimately became Vice President for Europe, Africa, and the Former Soviet Union. Doug is currently an advisor to a Scottish based provider of explosion proof electrical solutions and to the Oil and Gas division of a defence company listed in the AIM market. He is also a contractor board member to Oil & Gas UK.

    Doug has a proven track record of successful company start ups taking companies to profitable exit and has a wealth of experience in the international energy sector at senior management level.  He has considerable experience in taking new and advanced technologies to market.  Doug has held senior positions in the world’s largest oil services company as well as designing advanced electronic engineering products and as a consultant to several foreign governments.

    Chief Executive Officer

    Chris created and led the Telecom division of Queensgate Instruments, which sold to  SDL in 2000.   He later became  CEO  of Indigo Photonics, which was subsequently acquired by Insensys in 2003 and is now part of Schlumberger and Moog.  Most recently Chris was  CEO  of Ezurio, a spin off  from TDK, where he successfully commercialised their Bluetooth, WLAN and M2M technology, which led to the acquisition of the business by Laird Technologies in 2008.

  • Matt Anstead

    Matt has fourteen years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Prior to joining Energy Ventures, he held the position of Vice President at Simmons & Company International, where he managed a €50 million Oil services private equity fund. Previous positions include Field Engineer at Schlumberger, Analyst at Wood MacKenzie and Senior Associate at Booz & Co. Matt has an MBA from London Business School and Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.

  • Brian Kerr

    Brian Kerr

    Investor Director

    Brian is a founder partner at SEP and has responsibility for a number of portfolio companies across a broad range of technology sectors.  He has 18 years of investment experience. Initially focused on healthcare, Brian now has a far broader remit including responsibility for a number of SEP's energy related investments. He led SEP's investments in Stentys, a medical device company focused on the treatment of coronary heart disease which had a successful IPO in France in 2010; Arakis, which was acquired by Japanese biopharmaceutical company Sosei; and Craneware, a hospital billing software company which is now listed on the AIM market.

  • Graham Howes

    Graham joined BP in 2000 and is currently a Ventures Technology Manager in the BP Ventures.  The function of BP Ventures is to make strategic investments in companies with distinctive technology that aligns with BP core businesses.  He is a director of Heliex Power and Fotech Solutions and provides commercial support to BP-ICAM.  Graham is a Chartered Engineer and has an MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Cranfield University.

    Gary qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG.  Since then he has accumulated 24 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas and Tech sectors carrying out acquisitions, disposals and bank funding.  This included three years in his first CFO role in Texas, USA.  More recently Gary has worked with Private Equity backed SME’s included the successful sale of Red Spider to Haliburton.

    Ian brings 30+ years experience of successful operations management in high technology arenas including seismology instrumentation and oil and gas downhole solutions with companies such as Sondex, where he was General Manager, helping them through their integration into GE. He is responsible for Fotech’s strategic direction  for solutions deployment globally.

    Head of Innovation, Oil & Gas

    As Director of Technology, George is responsible for the development and deployment of Fotech’s integrated hardware and software solutions.  George has 27 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, and prior to joining Fotech, built up and successfully divested two Oil and Gas related technology companies. Most recently, he provided consulting services to major oil and gas companies. George has a BApS in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

    Stuart Large

    Sales & Product Line Director

    Stuart previously spent three years with NuTech, experts in the field of Unconventional Oil & Gas building business in Europe and the Eastern Hemisphere with Operators and Investors. He also spent more than ten years with Sondex, a manufacturer of Wireline Logging Tools and Drilling Sensors holding the roles of Technical Sales responsible for sales in China, FSU and Eastern Europe; Product Line Leader and Global Account Manager. Stuart’s career in the oil industry began with Halliburton as a Wireline Field Engineer.Stuart holds a Master of Engineering degree from Cambridge University.

    Head of Digital Signal Processing

    Peter has twelve years Optical Fibre Sensing Research and Development experience within the Oil & Gas industry. Primary development of first commercially deployed Distributed Pressure Sensing solution in 2006, extensive experience with development and deployment of DTS DSS, DPS, DVS, & DAS solutions for array of Oil & Gas applications. Lead development of multiple DAS signal processing solutions, co-chair for DAS Data Standards Committee, Patent Applications & Publications. Prior to industry 8 years academic Post-Grad & Post-Doctorate experimental and numerical modelling experience in the field of Nonlinear Dynamics.
